As background for this project, the community EDO sees connectivity as an essential service, much like a utility. It also views the ISP option as a business opportunity, with the possibility of creating both profits and skilled employment. Your proposal will outline a plan for how you will provide an all-in-one solution for the portal, with free or paid membership including details on how the portal will share gated content, sell courses and make connections in a custom interface.
The community online training portal will provide:
access to community training programs; and
access to support programs.
The goal of the portal is to:
• give new users the online skills they need to enjoy the full benefits of the Internet
• provide online training
• provide for instructor led-training
• provide first layer of support for the local community support technician who is responsible to support computer users in the community.
